Pyla/Pile è un villaggio interamente compreso nel territorio controllato dai caschi blu dell'ONU, ovvero nella buffer zone. In questo piccolo villaggio è possibile vedere ciò che prima del 1974 era la realtà di moltissime località sull'isola, ovvero la compresenza delle due comunità e dei loro simboli. Ed ecco che salendo le vie del paese incontriamo prima la cattedrale, poi, di fronte la stazione delle forze UNFICYP ecco spuntare il minareto. Un po più avanti, dopo la piazza, dove si fronteggiano una taverna greca e un caffè turco, già è possibile vedere le difese tirco-cipriote e i militari che controllano la frontiera. Poco dopo, all'uscita del centro abitato i segnali ci avvertono che stiamo entrando nella zona di Dekhelia e - per coloro che arrivano - l'ingresso nella buffer zone.

Pyla/Pile is a village situated in the buffer zone, controlled by the Blue Helmets. For this reason it is one of the last villages (along with Potamia) where Greek-Cypriots and Turkish-Cypriots still live together. Entering the village is the Cathedral and after few steps, in front of UNFICYP's station, the Mosque. In the square it is possible to see the Greek tavern in front of the Turkish Kavana. After a few meters it is possible to see the border line, patrolled by the Turkish Army, and leaving the village, signs inform visitors that they are leaving the buffer zone and entering the SBA area of Dekhelia.
